Laptop Collection and Clean-up (Lead Story)

Several Tech Coordinators and Teacher Leaders have told us that they're wondering how next year's 7th graders will feel about getting "used" laptops. David Trask of Vassalboro Community School has worked out a system for collecting 8th grade laptops at the end of the year and making sure they're in good shape for the fall. This is his report that was originally posted to the ACTEM listserv and is reprinted here with his permission.

John Wallace, of Mountain Valley Middle School (MVMS) located in Mexico, ME, has put together a great certification process for his students. Located at this link are the MVMS Commands and Basic Rules, questionnaire "How Well Do You Know Your Laptop", Laptop Care Test, and Certificate. The documents are in AppleWorks so that they may be customized for your individual schools.
