• Enhancing Student Learning In Science with Digital Resources -- October Conference The Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance kicks off its 2006-7 instructional technology series with a technology conference about digital resources for science learning. The conference will feature expert speakers and a wide variety of free digital resources for teaching and learning about science. The conference will place a special emphasis on the NSF-funded National Science Digital Library and its vast collection of resources.
• Literacy Summer Institute - Kittery This institute for Kittery teachers will be held Aug. 21 and 22, 2006 at Traip Academy. The agenda below contains possible topics for each day. As always, the agenda will be modified throughout the day to meet the needs and interests of the participants.
• Call For Presenters: Enhancing Student Learning in Science with Digital Resources On October 12, the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance will hold a conference on Enhancing Student Learning in Science with Digital Resources to address the selection and use of quality digital resources and tools in the middle and high school science classroom. As a part of the day, we invite teachers from grades 7-12 with innovative, classroom-tested applications of technology or use of digital resource to share them in short roundtable sessions. Accepted presenters will qualify for a reduced registration fee.
• Millinocket-Union 113 Workshop This workshop for teachers at Schenk and Stearns High Schools will be held Sept. 13 and the primary focus will be information literacy and guiding student research.
